How long does the booking process take?

The booking can be made within a couple of minutes depending on additional questions for the guide. Additional questions or options can easily be added or modify in a chat with your guide.

What methods of payment accepted?

This depends on the payment terms of your host, and the countries in which your guide or you are located. Most of our hosts accept payment with bank transfer, some accept cash on-site or Paypal.

Can I use more than one payment method to pay for a reservation?

Yes that’s up to you. We support multiple payments for a single reservation.

Can I make changes to a pending reservation request?

Yes you can.

How do I cancel a reservation request?

Please check the “Host’s Payment and Cancellation Policy” on the listing you’ve booked. Usually you get a partial refund in case you cancel early enough. In any case please contact your trip host as soon as possible.

How do I check the status of my reservation?

When am I charged for a reservation?

No, if your vacation doesn’t start in 2 weeks you can make an pre payment of 40% of the total amount to secure your booking. The other amount needs to be paid 2 weeks before you go on your holiday! If you want to agree on different terms or payment schedules please let us know.

What happens if my host cancels my reservation?

You will be notified by e-mail and will get a full refund.

What is the Resolution Center?

The resolution center is operated by the active.guide team to help mediating in issues that were caused before, during or after your booking.

What should I do if I forgot something at a place I stayed?

Please directly contact your guide.

Should I book if I have not heard back from the host?

Most of our guides will respond within a day. If for some reason the guide isn’t responding to your requests, it’s probably the case to a bad connection. You probably first want the question being resolved therefor we suggest on waiting with the full payment
